I paid for all inclusive, and a line of flight. A month earlier, say hotel closed?
offered "alternative accommodation, but for all the comments, the place is a dog hole. He denied it and said to choose another hotel, and the cost will be reviewed again. Just have another all-inclusive, and is much more expensive (like 400 pounds at the top of the queue already paid). Can we ask our money back if only offer an alternative? Thanks in advance (ps, is the hotel Phaendra Crete – to see horrible comments)
If you have booked the flight and accommodation as a package, the supplier must provide alternatives 3 – should provide a holiday of equal or similar level prices closely and without any extra cost or a less expensive holiday with them refund the price difference. If you do not want to take that option, you can choose a different holiday sold by them and pay, or receive a refund of any price difference. Or if you prefer, you can cancel your holiday and receive a full refund of money you have paid. This should include consideration of a refund of any insurance you might have bought if you can show that you can not transfer or reuse your policy. You can also find if you check out their booking conditions which must pay compensation, on a sliding scale, depending on the notification has been given. This applies even if you agree to a change. The problem is that if you really booked their flights separately, as they almost certainly non-refundable. If this is the case it would probably be better to opt for other types of accommodation in Crete, whether they offer or self-chosen selection they have available. At least this way you can claim any refund that may be due and still have their holiday, of course, you've been waiting for. Good luck.
