It is a very popular place with a beautiful sandy beach and plenty of umbrellas to shelter under, but can become crowded in high season.
Finally you may be tempted by a visit to the beach of Matala. Despite having one of the best beaches on the island, soft golden sand leading to the beautiful waters for swimming, this place retains some of its original atmosphere relaxed. It is here in the caves near the beach, that German and English hippies made his home during the 1960s. The town is now done most of its attractiveness to tourists. It consists mainly of hotels and rooms hire and is very lively during the summer, so perhaps the best time to go there is to be outside the main season.
