Has anyone ever been to Crete?
Hello. I went to Crete last August and I loved every moment of it. I stayed at the Bay Apartments Gold Gournes. And I will return this year to visit Elounda. If you have been to tell me your views on it, where did you stay? Good holidays? Highlights?
Wow what a question?? I used to come to Crete so often on holidays I moved here, and saved a fortune on air tickets and hotels !!!!! Crete has something for everyone, and many visitors return year after year, I have some Dutch friends to come here three times a year and even come of two months during winter! I think maybe you'll find a little more interesting Elounda Gournes that stage, since it is a beautiful and not too far from Agios Nikolaos, that is pretty, but you might find a little quiet at night Elounda if clubbing and lots of loud music you're after, but there are some excellent restaurants and bars and the port is a very pleasant area. The northern coast east of Heraklion Malia is very "tourist", and many young people are in this area during high season, but even inland from here a couple of miles away you will find quiet villages as Koutouloufari, Pano Hersonissos and Piscopiano, and of course in the hills polled. The south coast is much quieter and you can have miles of beach all to yourself even in high season in some places. I think the fact that many visitors return again and again shows what a wonderful place Crete really is!
