Israel Tour Greece, Turkey, Cyprus – which is better?
I'm going to Israel in May and wants to take a tour of four days in late May (when the weather is better). My options are to Antalya Turkey Istanbul, Ayia Napa in Cyprus, or Kos, Crete, Rhodes or Greece. What do you think is the best option?
That depends on what kind of things you enjoy doing. If you choose to Antalya or the Greek islands, your best option is to book value and package meals to be getting including the hotel very good price. You'll get great value for money, and bathroom nice to have a relaxing mini-break by the sea, but was limited to small excursions, as you will want to return to the hotel every night, and somehow, you feel as if you were still in Israel due to its hotel will be packed with Israelis also came in the same package type. If you choose to Istanbul or Cyprus on the other hand, you can book cheap flights with Turkish Airlines and Cyprus Airways and arrange their own accommodation and activities. I've done these two in the last six months, and I like most about Istanbul. It feels very exotic, with its breathtaking mosques, bazaars and hamams, and the city vibrates with life both day and night. Travelling in Turkey challenging because it is a huge country and you will be lucky to get some help in English in any railway stations or national airports there, but Istanbul is really a fascinating place everyone should visit at some point, and you could easily fill four days there without having to go elsewhere. In comparison, Cyprus is essentially just a tourist destination, but if you go to discos and drinking with other tourists is what you want, then it is obvious that a much better option! Cyprus has the advantage that everyone speaks English and is a small island that is easy to navigate, but it is much more expensive than that of Turkey, especially since the transition to the euro at the beginning of this year (I was there for the New Year, and was completely turn the chaotic). I know it is possible to cross the border in Nicosia Turkish-controlled northern Cyprus, although I have not done it myself – you should check the conditions before to do so, because they may not be allowed to stay overnight in northern Cyprus.
