Crete Arrival & Departure

Crete offer various ferry boat port options for arrival and departure. One can arrive in Crete twu largest towns Chania and Heraklion everyday from Piraeus. A medium fast overnight ferry takes about 6-8 hours and a slow ferry over 12 hours.

Other ports on Crete are serviced regularly but some, not every day. Aghios Nicolaou for example offers ferry service once or twice a week direct to the Cycladic Greek island of Milos thus avoiding a return to Piraeus. From Milos many other island are availible.

Similarly from the port of Sitia one may reach the Greek islands of the Dodecanese including Karpathos and Rhodes without necessitating a return to Athens.

Short flights from Athens or other locations in Greece are another option for those short on time but must be made to/from Heraklion of Chania.
